2. What’s New for Winter 2025/2026

Winter 2025/2026 Will Mark a New Era for Pila and for Those Choosing Aosta as Their Gateway to the Mountains. This December, two exceptional new attractions will be unveiled, set to redefine the tourist experience in the Aosta Valley: the new Pila–Couis gondola lift and the Stella di Pila, an innovative panoramic structure that blends technology, design, and fine dining.

The New Pila–Couis Gondola Lift

Fully operational for the 2025/2026 winter season, the Pila–Couis gondola will allow visitors to reach the highest point of the ski area, 2,700 metres, n about fifteen minutes from the heart of Aosta. The ten-seat panoramic cabins will offer breathtaking views of the Alps’ most iconic peaks: Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, the Grivola, and Gran Paradiso. Replacing two chairlifts, the new lift is designed to reduce environmental impact while improving sustainable mobility between the city and the slopes.

The Stella di Pila

At the gondola’s arrival station will rise the Stella di Pila, a contemporary-style panoramic building featuring terraces, relaxation areas, and the Panoramic Bistrot managed by the Skyway Monte Bianco team. Guests will enjoy gourmet interpretations of traditional Aosta Valley dishes, all accompanied by stunning views of Alpine giants rising above 4,000 metres. The venue will also be accessible to non-skiers, offering a unique opportunity to embrace a slower pace of mountain life through flavours, views, and warm hospitality.

A New Way to Experience Aosta and Its Mountains

This project was born from the ambition to connect Aosta with the highest peaks, creating a seamless transition between urban life and the Alpine landscape. The new gondola and the Stella di Pila stand as a symbol of excellence in sustainability, cuisine, and tourism innovation in the Aosta Valley.

Starting from winter 2025/2026, guests of Atelier du Temps will enjoy a truly unique experience: departing from the heart of Aosta, ascending to the Stella di Pila, and immersing themselves in the magic of the Alps, surrounded by snow, light, and authentic flavours.
